Clinical Observation on Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia


Abstract
A clinical observation on 46 cases of . chronic myelocytic leukemia showed that male to female ratio was 2:1, the most prevalent age was between 30-50 years, and the chief complaints were LUQ mass, loss of energy, fatigue, and anorexia. Laboratory findings revealed 32 anemia. cases, and most cases (33 cases) had their leukocyte ranges in 100, 000-300,000/cu mm, 15 cases had thrombocytosis, 19 cases reticulocytosis, 38 cases basophilia, 14 cases eosinophilia, 44 cases leukemic hiatus, and the prominent marrow elements were neutrophic myelocyte and neutrophilic segment.
Maximum available follow up durations in regard to the treatment group were 4 years in the X-ray irradiation group, 4 years and 7 months in the X-ray and myleran treatment group, and 10 years in the myleran treatment group. A 10 years follow up case was the longest survival case in this observation.
